Early Hominem. Neanderthals. Evolution.
by solameguy12 inso i grew up as a witness but i’m no longer active, i have some family that still practices very seriously.
but i don’t want to ask them my question.
but what does the bible and teaching’s of jw’s say about early hominids?

Neanderthals were human, just a lost genetic strain all of which adapt over time like any creature. Even today there is huge variety in bone structure, shape and size but we don't call them all different species. There are artifacts of civilization such as tools, clothing and burial so they weren't stereotypical cavemen. I believe WT has mentioned this as well.

Impact of Death of Favorite Character
by peacefulpete ini'll assume we have all felt a jolt of loss when a favorite tv, movie or book character dies.
when i watched the death of the incredible hulk tv movie after years of reading the comics and watch the tv show i was impacted.
funny even today it just feels wrong.

I get swept up in emotions of the general SITUATION portrayed onscreen and how it reminds of real life, but I wouldn't say I specifically feel for a character, at least not since being a kid. I agree with NonCoinCollector about feeling loss of an actor or personality, but that's more to do with the individual than a specific character. For instance I found Norm Macdonald's death very disappointing and sobering.

The length of a public talk
by Farmer Jim1 indoes anyone ever wonder the good they could have done instead of giving a public talk for 45 or 30 minutes?
i remember giving my first public talk aged 18 and even then i was thinking ' this is just me making up half truths trying to blind people with jw propaganda'.
fast forward 15 years to when i gave my final public talk and i was so close to seeding the 30 minutes with ideas that could possibly wake people up but i never had the guts.. in that 30 minutes i could have done so much real good for a person instead of spreading this awful religions dogma.

The idea of reverse witnessing through public talks must be a real fear, as nowadays assembly talks and public talks have an assigned outline reader in the audience to make sure you're not veering too much from the script.

Real Book titles
by punkofnice ini wonder if real book titles should be entitled according to our opinions?.
eg.. plato's republic.
i'd call it: some geezer in a toga mincing around a pond talking idealistic nonsense.

An interesting Observation of some Bibles
by Blotty infirst of all, hi, i go by blotty on this website :) i am someone who has a passion for the bible and like to get a as balanced view as i can from the trinitarian and the jw (or unitarian) side - even though i come off as leaning towards one or the other at times, in my opinion they both have merits in certain cases..if this is in the wrong section i apologise - this is just something i found interesting.iv seen online a lot that say the watchtower and tract society "invented" the link between proverbs 8:22 - 30 and jesus (the word).
yet interestingly some "mainstream" "trinitarian- aimed" translations are cross referencing the following:source:https://www.biblegateway.comprov 8:22 cr rev 3:14niv, gnt, esv, nasb, nasb1995, nasbre, cevprov 8:30 cr john 1:1,2Â esv nasbprov 8:30 cr john 1:3esvnasb1995nasb(this list is by no means complete)if this is simply wisdom, why is it referenced with jesus (or the word)?.

"How long will you keep limping on two different opinions?" There is no GT as JWs understand it, the org isn't special in history, for good OR for bad, and you should do what's best for YOU and those you care about, whether that involves fading or in fact being open and letting them disfellowship you. But playing their power tripping committee and letters game rarely has any benefit.
